While the Mexican Sour Gherkin Cucumber AKA "Cuc Nuts" or "Cucamelons" is fun to grow and a good seller for us, they do not like the heat/rain mixture! The picture of them I added is our last planting until it cools off some, how many can you see in the picture? When the plants are in their prime the fruit is everywhere and easy to pick since we trellis them, but when they are on the way out it becomes a hide and seek game almost! I see four in this picture that are ready to pick!!! We are doing all we can to make it through this heat and still provide quality fruits and veggies to you. Stay safe and hydrated!

About the farm
Covey Rise Farms is located in Husser, LA just north of New Orleans in central Tangipahoa Parish and is part of the Covey Rise Sportsman's Retreat. The farm started growing vegetables on 10 acres in 2009 and has expanded to over 60 acres at present. The farm not only grows multiple varieties of over 30 types of vegetables, but in recent years has added fruit trees and flowers. Our produce is enjoyed at various types of restaurants in New Orleans and surrounding areas, from the finest restaurants to quaint neighborhood cafes and everything in between and by our local produce/CSA members.
