BE SURE YOU SET YOUR PREFERENCES!
- If you haven't yet, Please log into your account and set your preferences for every item we have (yes every item!). This is how the program customizes your boxes. Plus we use these preferences in cases where we need to manually make up your share.
- You can change your preferences any time if you want to shake up what items you may get in your boxes.
- Remember*
- Keep at least quite a few items 3/5 or higher to assure you get a good mix in your shares throughout the summer!
- For example; if you only eat chicken, set ALL beef & pork cuts to 0's so that you don't receive them.
BIG Chicken:
- With increased efficiency, knowledge & experience raising meat birds, we raised really big birds!
- This batch our birds did really well, we were shocked to hear that many other farms raising birds the same way we do had the same outcome.
- Genetics are greatly increasing.
- For the next while, our birds will be an avg.
- whole & whole cut into 1/4s
- 5.75-6.5lbs +

- 1.75-2.5lbs+

Lots of Livestock around!
- Cows & calves
- Calving season began mid May and is still going
- Lots of chickens & baby chicks
- Baby Turkeys arrived last week
- Piglets are now 6 weeks old!
New walking freezer has arrived!
- Our pasture raised meat has become so popular that we needed to expand. We have a new, massive walk in freezer! It arrived on Friday.
- This was Kelsey's first farm project and so far (*knock on wood*) it is coming together nicely.
The Mexicanos are here!
- We have all 4 of our crew here, we are super grateful to have them.
- They were a big hand in kicking off spring planting!
Vaccinated!
- Thanks to the help of Durham Health department, we were able to get all of our staff vaccinated.
- We are very thankful to be able to safely continue producing food for ours & your families!
We're Hiring:
- If you or you know someone looking for some work, we have some opportunities!
- Delivery Drivers:
- 1-3 days a week (avg 5-8 hour days) delivery our CSA Shares to members
- Need to be able to lift 40lbs
- Routes in Durham, York & Toronto Regions
- 25+ With valid license & good driving record
HOME DELIVERY: It's hot outside in the summer!
- If you are on home delivery, please consider investing in a cooler.
- The cooler should be big enough to fit your share into. You should know roughly how much you receive by the number of shares your order.
- We can empty contents into a cooler upon request OR
- If your cooler is big enough, we can place the bag right inside.
- We do pack a frozen water bottle to help keep it cold, but this is very temporary.
- These keep your meat safe from the elements incase you are not going to be home.
- If you have a meat share as well, consider getting 2!
Please Return Boxes & Red Cooler Bags
- Yes! We REALLY want these back.
- Red Bags
- Remove you sticker with your name on it
- Leave the water bottle inside it.
- Plastic Produce containers:
- Green, small containers
- Strawberries often come in these
- Egg Cartons
- We only accept 12 whole cartons
- Must be clean
- Mason Jars
- Must be the mason jar style
- 1L, 500 ml, or 250ml
- Must be clean
DO NOT RETURN:
- Compostable Green Bags: Dispose of in your green bin or garbage.
- Plastic Coopers Bags: Dispose of in garbage (we are switching to composable bags)
- Plastic Containers: Recycle
- Maple Syrup Jars:
- Unfortunately we cannot reuse these
- Please recycle
- Non-Mason Jars:
- Ex. Spaghetti Sauce Jars
- These are not resealable OR the right sizes, we cannot use these.
SHOP THE EXTRAS:
- If you enjoy our pre-made meals, maple syrup, honey, jams, baked goods etc. You can order these items in the extras section on your harvie account. As members, we make a well stocked inventory specially for you.
