Week 11 of 20; Summer 2019 Vegetable Share: Coopers CSA Farm Happenings

Hi folks

We have a few raspberries available this week. Lots more coming. we grow these in our field high tunnels just west of the house. They are grown in the ground, they are a perennial so they keep coming back, but we keep the covered keeping the elements off of them. Keeping raspberries under cover in a modified greenhouse setting gives us 3 times the yield of regular field grown raspberries and the benefit of using 95% less control products (pesticides) to get that crop. A win - win!

- keep returning your boxes and bags. Re using is important to us

- We're harvesting some really nice savoy cabbage - best cabbage for cole slaw we think. Our neighbours around the corner Jan Hing farms are providing us with some awesome bok choi. We have beautiful purple kale as well.

-tomatoes, jalpenos, and white spanish onions are getting close. Almost salsa time!! Carrots are close too.

- pickling cukes are still in good supply. If you are interested in a large amount email us directly. We have them fresh and the ideal sizes. Dont wait though, we dont expect our patch to make it to September.

Thats all for now. talk next week
