To those of you who will be picking up for the first time this week, WELCOME! And thank you for choosing to be a member and integral part of our farm. We look forward to serving you some delicious fruits and veggies throughout the season!

After the hailstorm last week, we have had relatively easy going conditions at the farm. Some plants that had shown some damage from the storm have healed and are well on their way to recovery. The inherent ability of plants to repair, recover and flourish has always left me in awe. Mother Nature always perseveres.

The farm is getting close to being fully planted. A few more beds need to be prepped and planted with melons, cucumbers and zucchini and we will have almost everything in the ground.

With warm days and plenty of water, we are seeing plants take off when we get them in the ground. Direct seeded crops are germinating well and adjusting to their surroundings quickly. Some of our fertilizing and amendment adjustments may be helping with that as well. Good to see things growing.

I get excited seeing crops come in to season, getting to meet all the new members and reconnecting with familiar faces. I hope you’re excited to taste the freshness and quality of our produce, maybe try something new and eat great, local food!

As springtime progresses in to summer, we will have more volume and variety of fruits and veggies available. We ask that you stay patient as we cycle through the springtime greens that are the first items available to harvest. Fruits like tomatoes and strawberries, as well as zucchini and peppers take time, but are on their way!

See you at the farm!

Eat well and enjoy
