Farm Happenings for November 9th, 2023

Posted on November 4th, 2023 by Mike Finger

Hi, Friends.  The customization period for next Thursday's (November 9th) harvest is now OPEN and will remain so until 9 a.m. Sunday morning.  If you'd like to change the crop list you currently have, or add other items or quantity, NOW is the time to do so.

The following items are available ONLY to those customizing their shares:  Eggs, Chicken, and Fresh Pasta.

Thank You and Thank You for returning your (folded flat, no rips) share box to your pick up site ~ we really appreciate all the boxes members have returned this season! Pork Shares, please return to your pickup site the freezer bags your last order was packed in ~ Thanks!

Some News:  Our 2023 farm season will draw to a close when we deliver the final CSA boxes of the year on November 30th.  This will also be the final CSA harvest of our 35 year career as farmers. In 2024, we'll both be entirely or mostly (Mike is still pondering his options) retired, which means no more CSA program or Farmers' Market appearances. We'll have more to say about our farming days and impending retirement; but for now, please know that growing fresh food for our community has been our great honor and constant joy these past many seasons.  We feel no small amount of melancholy with this decision, but know that it is the right one. Thank you for your support of our family and farm, for some of you an association of many years. It has been a lovely collaboration.

This Week's Photo: Tomatoes, expired. The frost came and summer departed, a bit glum but overall pleased with her creations.

Thank You for your membership.

Your farmers,

Mike, Kim, and Crew
