BMA Agriculture is now accepting signups for the Fall/Winter CSA! This CSA program starts the first week of November and will run until the end of January. Our greenhouse is full of lots of produce and plenty more will be planted throughout the winter season. We will have a variety of greens, root veggies, and herbs. We will also feature some dried goods and dried herbs as add-ons throughout the season.Customers will have the option of a small or medium share. A small share is $15 per box and a medium share is $25 per box. Customers may also purchase egg shares at $3 per dozen. Boxes are generated by what the customers like then the customers are able to personalize each box to get exactly what they want.  Here is a sample of what a small share would look like:

1.       A bunch of Collards, kale, or Swiss Chard

2.       A bunch of carrots

3.       A head of lettuce

4.       A bunch of radishes

5.       Beets

6.       A bag of dried fruit, herbs, or grains

7. fresh herbs

All of these items will be nicely packaged into a waxed box and labeled for customers to pick up at one of our 2 locations:

1.       BMA Agriculture’s Honor Stand on Fridays after 2pm.Our Agriculture program has an honor stand for customers to shop at their convenience. CSA customers will pick up their box from the designated refrigerator. If payment is owed, it can be dropped in the money box. We also save the waxed boxes and reuse them for the same customers and sanitize before packing new produce.

2.       St. Jo Penn State Health Center on 6th Street in Reading on Tuesdays between 11am-2pmBMA Agriculture holds a Farmer’s Market at the hospital every Tuesday as part of the Veggie RX program provided by Penn State Health. Customers are prescribed a healthy diet and given vouchers to spend on our produce after their appointments. This location has spread awareness throughout the community that there is fresh produce available to anyone who wants it. This location also accepts Berks Farm Bucks and EBT that can be used as an offline payment towards the CSA share. Please inquire with Christina if this an interest.

Here are testimonies from a couple of our CSA customers from the 2020 Spring/Summer season:

“We so appreciate BMA’s CSA program!  My doctor recommends I eat organic due to health concerns and BMA makes it possible for me to be able to afford more organic foods.  The quality of the food we receive is outstanding and everything looks and tastes great!  My children are more receptive to eating fresh veggies as they get excited to pick up our box and see what we have.  I appreciate that they are able to literally see where their food comes from.  BMA’s CSA is like no other I have joined before because it gives me the flexibility with box sizes, how often, and what I love most is I can swap out items based on my preferences or needs for that week.  For me that makes all the difference as we don’t like to waste food or be stuck with things we don’t like to eat.  Thank you BMA -We are so blessed by your CSA program!”

“I have loved being part of the program! This is my first year joining the BMA CSA program and I couldn't be more pleased that I did.  Every week my box has a great variety of produce but I always have the opportunity to swap items if I wish. I can't wait to open my box each week and see the vibrant produce inside! Every item is freshly picked. The quality is superb and the quantity is generous. Every item has been delicious and I even tried foods I had never eaten before. I would highly recommend this program to anyone and plan to be a lifelong subscriber.”

We are excited to keep offering our CSA program and appreciate every signup. The funds from the CSA program goes towards improving the agriculture land and adding more produce for us to grow. We want to expand our farm to have even more variety that is organic and fresh for the community.First time signups will receive 50% off their first box.

There is also a refer-a-friend program that will earn you and your friend $25 each per sign up.  Every customer has a unique referral code they can use to refer their friends!
