Fall Currents

Posted on September 9th, 2020 by Matt Frank

As we transition into September, temperatures have started dropping and a hint of fall has arrived on cool morning breezes here at the farm. Autumnal crops have begun to show up in CSA shares, including winter squash, beets and cauliflower. In the coming weeks, you can expect more root and bulb veggies to make an appearance in your weekly share, including things like garlic, onions, shallots, leeks, parsnips and celeriac. 'Tis the season for warm soups, stews and veggie breakfast hash.

In years past, we've offered bulk case sales of these storage crops to CSA members as an extra add-on option. However, because of the pandemic's continuing effects on healthy food access, we've decided to keep focusing our efforts on providing excess organic produce to our food shelf partners this fall.

We hope you're as excited as we are for all that the fall harvest season has to offer!
