CSA Week 30

Posted on November 14th, 2020 by Trish Cirelli

CSA Week 30 is here! Can’t believe it’s already the week before Thanksgiving!!
This week’s shares are packed with tons of great homegrown goodies, and we’re amazed by the variety we’ve been able to harvest so late in the season.
A CSA share favorite is back this week- our homegrown popcorn is finally dry and ready for popping! (see instructions below to enjoy)
And there will be delicious Fuji and Granny Smith apples, along with broccoli, organic greens, winter squash, and tasty carrots.

Please keep an eye on your inboxes and the flyers included in your CSA shares for important reminders this week.

There is still time to order thanksgiving pies and turkeys! We are happy to include your add-on items with your share deliveries and pickups the week of Thanksgiving. Click here to place your orders- https://www.alstedefarms.com/thanksgiving-pre-order/ **Please Note: the deadline to order gluten free and vegan pies is 11/17**

Popcorn Popping Instructions:
Place the whole ear of popcorn into a paper bag, make sure to fold over the open end.
Place the bag in the microwave for two to three minutes. DO NOT LEAVE UNATTENDED. Microwaves and ears of corn vary, and some will take less time to pop. Listen for the popping to start to slow down and stop the microwave before the popping stops completely.
Open the bag carefully and pour the contents into a large bowl. You can enjoy it plain, with a sprinkling of salt, olive oil, or butter and your favorite seasoning.
Some of our favorite flavor combinations:
Cinnamon and sugar, Parmesan and herb, olive oil and sea salt, chili and lime... the possibilities are endless!
