Farm Happenings for April 1, 2020

Posted on March 29th, 2020 by Renee Watley

Hi,

How is everyone doing/feeling?  I think this second week started to take a toll on us.  We are homebodies at heart but we started to feel a little confined.  So we decided to set up a tent and spend Saturday night "camping" overnight in our backyard.

How are you all passing the time?

On the farm, we'll be transitioning our gardens.  Finally pulling the sungold tomatoes, spring mix, broccoli florets, arugula, radish, beets, and carrots.  This week will likely be the last harvests from those veggies.  The bees are loving the broccoli and arugula flowers from these plants going to seed.  It's a pretty sight.

New in boxes this week are zucchini from Passion Organics.  They're a versatile veggie that can be grilled, sautéed, zoodled (like spaghetti noodles :), baked and even fried.  Be sure to share what your doing with your farm boxes with us by tagging @asimplerplace on instagram!  We love to see what everyone's making.

We've added to our self serve area on the farm.  We now have a second cooler with grab and go veggies.  Grab any items you might want to add when picking up your farm box. And check out at our self-serve station.  We're only accepting cards at this time.

Most importantly, thank you!  Thank you for working with us as we try to adapt on what feels like a daily basis.  These uncertain times have certainly been challenging.  As we know they have been for so many.  We appreciate your support.

Stay healthy and be well.
