We are excited to start the New Year in partnership with Harvie Farms whose software will allow you to customize your farm shares, add extras, and come and go as you choose; although we hope you'll love supporting local ag stay forever :) For those of you who are new to us, we are a small farm who also works with other local growers and ranchers to create true and transparent sourcing for the goods you'll find here in our "Farm Stand".
On our farm, we recently found ourselves with a broken well pump. Because we are in our dry season we needed get it fixed asap. Fortunately, we had rain while we were down and were able to get the pump repaired quickly. We are currently harvesting beautiful and sweet purple broccoli, sungold tomatoes, cilantro, arugula, and small bell peppers.
This week we'll be working with Peach Pit Farms for a specialty crop of radicchio. We suggest being adventurous and giving this leafy green a try. It's often used in Italian cuisine; usually eaten grilled with olive oil. You can expect a bitter flavor when eaten raw and for that bitterness to mellow as its grilled or roasted.
