Farm Happenings for October 10, 2022

Posted on October 7th, 2022 by Deidre Dealy

These autumn days are a wonderful relief from the heat we had all summer long. The changing of seasons, from summer to autumn, is such a wonderful time...full of flavors, colors and comfy clothes. Its been fabulous to experience the changing of the leaves and the gradual cooling of the temperatures this year. Many years, in our area, we would have had at least one freeze or snow by now, which often feels like an abrupt halt to the summer.

This week is number 14 of our 2022 CSA program, meaning we have only one more week of deliveries remaining. We have been thankful for each and every one of you this season! It has been a challenging one, dealing with a cool, wet spring followed by a dry and unusually hot summer. We experienced several crop losses, and had others that thrived, which is why we plant so much variety each season. We would love to hear what things you really loved about the CSA, and also how we could improve in the future. What produce varieties you like or don't like, something you would love to see us include, did you like the Harvie platform of find it tedious? Please shoot us an email if you have something to share!

Lastly, if you aren't ready for the CSA to be over...we offer a fall/winter CSA share and there are still spaces available. There are five deliveries occur every other week (with the exception of December, due to the holiday). You can see more information or sign up HERE

Have a wonderful weekend and we will see yo on Monday!
