Hi Friends! The time has finally arrived for our 2022 Summer CSA to begin! This week is always exciting for us and a little bit intimidating. You'll notice that the inventory we have on hand is a lot of greenery. Please, do not worry...there's more variety to come...we just have to wait as the season progresses for the variety to pop up. If it's your first time joining us, please read to the end to know what to expect!
This spring and early summer has been a challenging one for us, par for the farming course. For various reasons, which might bore you if I were to elaborate, many of our crops were planted later than we would have liked them to be. A wet spring is really nice for keeping those plants watered, but it also brings about it's own challenges like mud (which is really difficult for planting), well-watered weeds and bugs. We are trying our best to take every setback in stride, as the game of growing is full of setbacks every season. You understand this if you've ever had a garden of your own! So, right now, we are not attending any farmer's markets or selling produce elsewhere. Our CSA members are really our priority, and we want to give you the best we have whenever its available!
What to Expect:
Your email on Friday includes a breakdown of what will be included in your CSA share on Monday. You'll have until noon on Sunday to make any changes or swaps to your contents. There are limited quantities available for swapping at this time of the season and availability will fluctuate throughout the weekend if others are doing swapping too.
On Sunday at noon your box is finalized so we can harvest for delivery the next day.
You'll receive a reminder email which includes your pickup time and location.
Please bring a box or bag with you to the pickup site to take your produce home in. When you arrive, there will be a pile of boxes labeled (mostly) alphabetically by last name. Feel free to locate your box and unload it.
If you are on the payment plan: On Monday when the orders are finalized, half of the remaining balance due on your account will be charged to your payment on file. If your payment information needs updated, you will receive an email informing you of this at that time. The remainder of your balance will be billed on a weekly basis for the rest of the season.
