Happy First Week of December

Posted on December 4th, 2021 by Lynne Schultz

Greetings from the farm,

I hope that everyone has a great week. And is enjoy this nice weather. We have been send out the kids weeks all week long to enjoy the fresh air and burn off some energy. With the nice weather our friend that own landscaping business have been busy clean people's yards of leaves and they have been dropping them off at the farm for us to use for compost. Josh get so excited as another load gets dropped off since fertilizer prices continue to rise. This is also way our chickens have gone in our high tunnels this year to help increase nutrients without the extra cost. Every part of manure from all of our animals is critical to helping keep cost down this year.

We did go cut down our Christmas tree this and got it up an decorated in the house. With Christmas around the cornering we are trying to figure out what do get our kids. It is always hard since the kids don't really play with a lot of toys since they are outside all the time. Right now they are getting sock and underwear. I know that is not what kids want under the tree but that is something they can always need. Josh and I also just have to find time to go our shopping too in our busy schedules. We have lot going this week. Josh has to take cows to the butcher shop this week. Also the Michael and Sadie have basketball this week including three games and I am coaching so my nights and weekends are full of that. Also I am working on redoing our website so if you try get on this week it will not show up. Another thing we are involved in is Farm Bureau. I am actually our county's president. So this week I will be heading to Columbus for two days to work with other members across the state to to work on policy for the future of our farming community.

I hope everyone has a great week,
