Farm Happenings for June 15, 2021

Posted on June 11th, 2021 by Lynne Schultz

Greetings from the farm,

Hope that you are having a great week. Another week down on the books. Can you believe this week 5 already we are 1/4 of the way done with our veggie share for the season? New this week is carrots. Then the regular things zucchini, tomatoes, herbs, and greens. Enjoy the greens for a few more weeks then there will be a small break.  This week fruits share will be blueberries and peaches for sure and maybe some strawberries but can't promise the strawberries since it is getting to be the end of the season.

On the farm this week we celebrate Lillian's birthday. She turns three years old and marks three years for Josh being full time on the farm. Time sure does fly. We have a few things to finsh up planting but it has been kind of hard to get in the fields with it raining everyday. However, this week the weather looks better and we will be trying to finsh a lot of our hay. We would like to get it done before Fourth of July. Also this week is a first for us, Josh and I will be going two different markets on Saturday's. Josh will be staying at Lancaster and I will be heading up to Columbus to North Market. We are super excited and anxious at the same time for this first time in ten years we will be at two different markets at the same time.

A little house keeping please make sure you gone in and done your preferences in your account. You can do this by going to top of your page and hitting the preferences tab. Also if you haven't please join our Facebook CSA page. It is great way to see what others are doing with their CSA bag. Here is the link to do so https://www.facebook.com/groups/SVFarmsCSA .

Have a great week,

The Schultz Family
