Here is to Week One

Posted on May 13th, 2020 by Lynne Schultz

Greeting from the farm.

So here is to week one of CSA season. We are super busy this week planting now that the cold is out of here. We have many things that are getting planted. We have tomatoes, sweet and hot peppers, eggplants, green beans, zucchini, summer squash just to name a few. After the few weeks of cold, we happy to announce that we will have strawberries we just do not how many. They will be ready here in your third or fourth basket. The frost blanket are finally getting put away and we are ready for some warmer weather.

The first few weeks will be a lot of green. The cold weather has made things just not grow as fast as usual, but we have a lot planted so far. Over three acres of spring crops. But with cold weather it has made asparagus to grow slow so we will have asparagus the first few weeks. Also, good news the tomatoes in the greenhouse are looking well and we have a bunch of setting on the vines.

I will be sending out another email this week with pictures of where to pick up your CSA baskets. Please be patient these first few weeks as both you and us are learning Harvie. I think once we get a hang of it we will all like it. If you have questions about how to use Harvie, try looking up info in the Harvie University.

Thank you all again for supporting our farm,

The Schultz Family
