Farm Happenings for June 30, 2020

Posted on June 24th, 2020 by Lisa Duff

The farm is bustling with such bounty and high energy this time of year. We are finishing up spring crops, welcoming in summer crops, and planting fall crops! There is so much food and so much to do. The raspberries are coming in, summer squash by the wheelbarrow load (Cat harvested 175# in one wheelbarrow last week! Many were over sized for bread or donation but man oh man that's a lot of squash!), the first sun gold cherry tomatoes and today the very first big, red tomatoes from the tunnel and so it goes. After this week say goodbye to Fava beans, spinach, sugar snap peas, and garlic scapes say hello to tomatoes, garlic, onions, summer squash, peppers, potatoes and eggplant....

We most always have the standards like kale, chard, scallions, lettuce mix or some type of head lettuce, some sort of cabbage, kohlrabi, boy choi, turnips and beets. Trying to spread them out enough so you are not inundated.

If you have a new favorite you want more of or an old favorite you haven't seen enough of, let us know!

All the parts and pieces of balancing a small business that is dependent upon Mother Nature is my passion and life's work.

Thank you for your support.

Cheers as we say goodbye to June and Hello to July!

Be Well,
