First CSA week of 2020!

Posted on April 2nd, 2020 by Lisa Duff

We, seen above at the first ever Oak Spring Farm farm crew retreat,  are grateful to grow for you this super early April season. For the next 4 weeks you will see a variety of salad mixes, arugula, kale, chard, bok choi, beets, carrots, radishes, pea shoots, salad turnips, micro greens, spinach, cilantro and parsley. Quantity is light this time of year but we'll strive to provide you with enough variety to keep it interesting. Items can be swapped if there is availability. Check out the extras for additional items like 100% Grassfed ground beef and beef sausage grillers from Shady Spring Farm in Freeland, eggs, cheese, butter, potatoes from Siwik Produce (Certified Organic potatoes from 2019 crop) and beautiful fresh bouquets of flowers from Floriculture.

All CSA bags will be pre-packed including on farm pick up. This is different from how we have historically run our market style CSA pick up. The farm store will not be open at this time. Please order all extras through the Harvie on-line system. There will be limited flower bouquets for sale at the farmPlease consider helping our flower farmers out at this difficult time and brighten your day with a gorgeous, local bouquet.

John Brown Butchery pick up will be outside at the drive thru coffee shop  (currently closed). The hours are 12noon-2pm and it will be staffed by Oak Spring Farm. You will see Lisa, Zyah, Cat or Alex to collect your bag. Please come as close to 12noon as you can. When all the bags are distributed we can get back to much needed farm work!

Home delivery:  We are not using a professional delivery service. The hands that harvested your food will also deliver it.  Please bear with us. Put a cooler outside if you won't be home. I'll plan to leave the bag outside either way for your safety and mine.

We are in troubled, uncertain times. We are so grateful to be a part of the solution, to have your trust, to have your back. Rest assured we are keeping up with all the current health and safety guidelines to keep you and us safe. This includes wiping down all surfaces, door knobs, handles, etc rigorously, keeping the supply chain as short as possible, and keeping our 6 feet social distancing rule in effect on the farm between staff and patrons. Staff will not report for duty if they feel ill. Please wear gloves and a mask to pick up your food if that feels comfortable. It helps keep everyone safe. No offense taken. Please don't come to pick up your food if you are in any way feeling under the weather. We will hand your bag to you when you arrive. Thank you so much for joining our 'Farmily'.

Be Well,

Lisa
