Farm Happenings for August 8, 2020

Posted on August 5th, 2020 by Mhonpaj Lee

Thank you for being patient with us this season. There are a lot of moving parts. But Excitingly enough potatoes and water melon are in and Tomatoes are grown inside the high tunnels and look beautiful. We spend hours trellising, planting and making sure our soil is in mint condition for you to have the most fresh and delicious. The difference between sungolds and grape tomatoes is for you to let us know. This week we made soup with celery, carrots and potatoes you can supplement tofu or use a choice of beef. Malibar spinach is high in Vitamin A and C and Jewel of Opar is high in Omegga 3. So we have clients who buy it to create smoothies in the bulk. The cucumbers and beans are comming to the end of the season. We just received our plastic bins. We would like to recycle more so we will still provide liners to you and will be using these reusable plastic bins moving forward to save on time, money and energy. We will be taking covid precautions and sanitzing and washing bins after every use.

We also been asked why or what is an organic farm and so I have provided a link from MOSES a non profit on the reason why our farm is Organic. This year we have the most diverse audience buying our produce. From first time CSA members to seniored members. Either way we thank you for your support.

I've attached the link about MOSES here and what is organic.
