Farm happenings for Week of June 14th

Posted on June 15th, 2021 by Kelly Morris

Hello!

PICK UP HOURS: Pick up hours this week, and every week, are Thursday 3pm-7pm, Friday 11am-7pm and Saturday 9am-1pm. Despite what day you chose when signing up for your share, you are welcome to come during any of our open hours. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before closing to give yourself time to gather your veggies.

FARM UPDATE: The recent rain has given a growth spurt to the veggies, unfortunately the weeds are growing vigorously as well. We're doing our best to keep up with the weeding. If you'd like to lend a hand for an hour or two (or more!), email Elizabeth at community@homefields.org. We'd be grateful for the help! Despite the weeds, the farm is looking verdant and lush. The summer squash and cucumbers are beginning to set fruit in abundance. The June berry is still producing berries and the Goumi berries are coming up fast behind them. The Goumi berry bushes are between the PYO and the blueberries. These unique fruits are a little tart, especially if they aren't fully ripe, so look for deep red ones!

EXTRAS: We have eggs, mushrooms, juice, bread and coffee available to purchase as one-time "extras".

See you soon!

Your farmers,
Katie, Elizabeth, Brad, Christina, Kelly, Matt and Nate
