Farm Happenings for Friday April 10, 2020 (Walla Walla)

Posted on April 4th, 2020 by Hayshaker Farm Admin

We will be doing another round of boxes for Friday April 10th, 3-5pm inn front of Colville Street Patisserie or home delivery for $5. We are adding some new cheeses from Monteillet Fromagerie and pastured duck eggs from Stone's Throw Farm.

We just put up two new high tunnels, so we hope to increase our snap peas, cucumbers and next winter's greens offerings. We've also been plowing our big fields to prepare for planting potatoes, kale, chard, lettuce, fennel and more in the next few weeks. The food is coming! Thank you for supporting us.

xoxo Hayshakers

Stones Throw Farm: "Our ducks are a mix of heirloom layer breeds including Khaki Campbells, Black Cayuga, and Welsh Harlequin. They live with us on our un-sprayed 25 acre farm and dine on organic veggies, grass, bugs, and a Washington grown NON-GMO feed. They enjoy quacking and splashing in their pond.

Duck eggs are richer, making baked goods quiches spectacular. They are also a great way to get more nutrition into daily egg eating. As for nutrition...Plentiful in B vitamins, vitamin E, and vitamin K. Each egg has over half your daily B-12 requirements, which our bodies need for blood production and neurological function."
