Fresh from the farm picked fruit, vegetables, and dairy - hurray! You want every box to be an exciting time filled with beautiful food. To have that feeling, we need to work together. Here are some tips:

How can I protect my box from the hot sun and freezing?

As temperatures fluctuate from crazy hot to freezing over the CSA: Leave a cooler outside your home for the driver to leave your harvest inside of it!

Can I ditch the box entirely and have you put my items in the cooler?

Due to food safety regulations, we cannot have drivers handling your produce and placing it in your cooler. They must always deliver your entire box to you. Your health and well-being are our top priority!

How can I ensure my driver uses the cooler?

Our drivers know to look for a cooler when delivering to your home. We suggest you make it as obvious as possible though, just in case! Please add a note to your delivery instructions and place your cooler wherever your harvest gets typically delivered. What size cooler do I need to have?

Since your cooler must fit the entire box, we recommend double-checking that your bag or cooler can fit anything with internal dimensions of 16” (Length) x 12” (Depth/Width) x 10” (Height). If you get two harvests, you'll need to ensure both boxes fit inside the cooler or provide two coolers. Get a second use out of your summer camping cooler - or justify picking one up before you "need" it for the tailgating party.

Do I need to be home to accept my delivery? What if I live in an apartment?

You do not need to be home to accept your delivery! Please update your delivery instructions in your account area.

If you live in a house

Include where you would like us to leave the harvest if you aren't home, and any necessary instructions or features of your home. A lot of customers will leave the color of their door, a description of the flower pot or welcome mat.

Farmer Joe’s Gardens' dedicated community-supported agriculture (CSA) delivers the freshest produce right to your doorstep to provide you with the natural goodness from the comforts of your home. Alternatively, you may pick them up directly from our farmstand in Wallingford, or arrange for private company site for employee-only pickups.

Life is usually a mixed bag (of fruits and vegetables, ideally!), that’s why we reschedule our services to suit your time and target. Choose from a one-time share or ongoing subscription (weekly or biweekly of 18 weeks of the program). It’s really your call! You don’t have to worry about missing a single basket of nutritional delights as we prioritize every order according to your needs.
